WWE Hall Of Famer’s Son Makes Blockbuster Debut
A son of a WWE Hall of Famer has arrived on the pro wrestling scene with his recent in-ring debut. The legend in question is AJ Styles.
AJ Styles has had a legendary pro wrestling career, as he has been in the industry for decades. He was a top star in TNA and also had a great run in WWE. Following his in-ring retirement after the Royal Rumble PLE earlier this year, The Phenomenal One was also inducted into this year’s Hall of Fame by the Stamford-based promotion.
Meanwhile, AJ Styles is ready to pass on his legacy in pro wrestling to his son, Avery Jones. It was recently announced that Styles’ son will be making his wrestling debut through the indie promotion, Squared Circle Action (SCA).
Avery Jones has finally arrived in the pro wrestling industry, as he made his in-ring debut at the recent SCA event in Royston, Georgia. Avery squared off against Ashton Martin in his debut match. In the viral video from his debut match, Avery Jones could be seen hitting his dad’s signature move, the phenomenal forearm, on his opponent as well.

WWE Hall of Famer on his new role after retirement
After losing to Gunther at Royal Rumble 2026 in a career-threatening match, the WWE Hall of Famer, AJ Styles officially retired from in-ring competition.
Speaking on his Phenomenally Retro Podcast a few months back, AJ Styles revealed that he has taken up the role of scouting talent from indies for the WWE after retirement, and hopes to find talent before it’s developed:
I’ve been going to indie shows and checking those out, just seeing what everyone has to offer and stuff like that. I’m scouring the internet for something that sticks out…if you want to send me that stuff, fine, go ahead, I’d love to see it. So yeah, I’m trying to check out talent and see how much talent is out there.”
I know what it’s like to be on the indies and having a job. Traveling on the indies, sometimes it’s hard to get things that you need. And so, if they are as desperate as I was to make it in the wrestling business, then I’d love to see them before anybody else snags them up. That’s the way it is. And hopefully, I’m able to see talent before it’s developed.”
Only time will tell what the future holds for AJ Styles’ son, Avery Jones, following his pro wrestling debut.
