AJ Styles Makes Major Revelation About New WWE Role
AJ Styles wrestled his last match against Gunther at WWE Royal Rumble 2026. Following his loss, he retired from in-ring competition. He is now set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026.
After his in-ring retirement, AJ Styles has transitioned into a multifaceted behind-the-scenes role with WWE, focused on talent development. He now works as a talent scout and recruiter, while also serving as a coach and mentor at the WWE Performance Center.
AJ Styles Is Scouting The Indies For New Talent For WWE
Styles also recently launched his Phenomenally Retro podcast, where he shared details about his new role in WWE. He revealed that he has been attending independent shows to scout new talent for the company.
Having been part of the indies, Styles knows what it’s like to grind on that circuit, and he hopes to scout and recruit talent with true potential into WWE.
“I’ve been going to indie shows and checking those out, just seeing what everyone has to offer and stuff like that. I’m scouring the internet for something that sticks out…if you want to send me that stuff, fine, go ahead, I’d love to see it. So yeah, I’m trying to check out talent and see how much talent is out there.”
“I know what it’s like to be on the indies and having a job. Traveling on the indies, sometimes it’s hard to get things that you need. And so, if they are as desperate as I was to make it in the wrestling business, then I’d love to see them before anybody else snags them up. That’s the way it is. And hopefully, I’m able to see talent before it’s developed.”
