2-Time WWE Women’s Champion Confirms She Will Never Wrestle Again
A former WWE Women’s Champion has confirmed her retirement from wrestling.
Victoria debuted in the company as one of The Godfather’s ‘hos,’ but was repackaged and sent to developmental territory, representing Power Pro Wrestling and Heartland Wrestling Association until early 2002.
She returned to WWE as Victoria in July that year, entering a months-long feud with Trish Stratus. Her character gradually adopted a demented and sadistic persona, making her unpredictable and dangerous.
Her feud with Stratus culminated in a Hardcore Match at Survivor Series, which she won to secure a major title for the first time. She held the belt for 133 days before dropping it to Stratus in a 3-way match, which also included Jazz, at WrestleMania XIX.
On February 23, 2004, she won a 4-way elimination match to become the WWE Women’s Champion for a second time.
In the following years, Victoria was featured in various feuds, but did not win any championships.
In early 2009, she left the company after being told that the creative team had no storylines for her. She subsequently joined TNA, where she became a 5-time Knockouts Champion and won the tag titles once with Brooke Tessmacher. She departed the company in 2013.
Victoria performed in the independent circuit before announcing the end of her career as an active wrestler in 2019. Since then, she has made one appearance each for WWE (2021) and TNA (2023).
Ex-WWE Champion Victoria Will Never Wrestle Again
While being an active wrestler, Victoria started multiple business ventures, which either abruptly came to an end or were voluntarily ended for the best reasons.
The 55-year-old former WWE Women’s Champion also participates in Whatnot stream, which she claims is now her “favorite thing.”
During an appearance on one of her recent streams, Victoria confirmed her status as a wrestler by revealing that she was retired and did not intend to wrestle.
No, no. I retired. I retired. My body hurts, you guys. I still do appearances, and Whatnot is my new favorite thing. [H/T: Fightful]
Victoria’s last match in the Stamford promotion was at the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble. In her last TNA match, she teamed up with Gisele Shaw in a losing cause against Death Dollz (Jessicka & Tyra Valkyrie) for the Knockout Tag Team Championship.
During an interview with the After The Bell podcast, Trish Stratus praised Victoria for her stint in the company, claiming that she contributed to shaping the women’s division at a time when males dominated the sport.
She also vouched for her to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the future.
