Huge Sheamus-AEW Bombshell
A latest report dropped a massive bombshell regarding Sheamus’ potential move to AEW.
After 19 years in his career in the WWE, Sheamus is shockingly departing from the promotion. He last competed on RAW in November last year and has been out of action due to injury concerns ever since. It was reported that The Celtic Warrior decided to leave by refusing a pay cut that was offered to him on his contract.
According to a recent report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, an undisclosed higher-up in the WWE tried to convince TKO to keep Sheamus with the company by explaining the value the 48-year-old veteran adds beyond his contribution in the ring.
The report also revealed that someone close to Sheamus believes that The Celtic Warrior would be open to the idea of wrestling in AEW “if the right situation presented itself.” The source also believes that the 48-year-old legend could become All Elite even if it’s on a short-term basis.

There have been rampant rumors of The Celtic Warrior possibly jumping ship to All Elite Wrestling amid his WWE departure as well.
Legend defends WWE amid Sheamus’ departure
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T came to the defense of WWE against criticisms regarding Sheamus’ departure after 19 years in the company. Booker said that there’s a life expectancy in everything:
There’s a life expectancy in everything. I’ve heard these podcasters, people talking about this could be a problem. Sheamus is 48 years old, okay? Sheamus started in the WWE in 2007 in the FCW program. He started on the main roster in 2009. This guy’s had a damn near 20 year career as a professional wrestler in one company.”
Booker T further stated that The Celtic Warrior could go on to make money despite his exit from WWE while explaining how corporations work:
Someone like Sheamus, four time world champion, he’s put in his work. The thing is, if Sheamus left WWE, he still can go ahead and make money and still do this thing for however many more years he actually wants to do it, if he actually wants to do it. When I hear people literally trying to make WWE the bad guy when somebody gets released, laid off, or fired — that happens in any corporation. It really does.”
It will be interesting to see if the 48-year-old legend will be seen in AEW.
