Sheamus Going To AEW Doesn’t Interest Some Wrestlers
According to the latest report, some AEW stars are not interested in Sheamus going there following his WWE departure.
After spending the majority of his wrestling career in WWE, Sheamus is apparently on his way out of the promotion. It was reported that The Celtic Warrior refused to take a pay cut that was offered to him to stay with the company. He was also out of action for months since his last match in November 2025.
Sheamus seemingly confirmed his WWE departure by removing the company’s name from his X social media handle’s bio. He also changed his social media name to S. Farrelly. Following his departure, fans are speculating that the 48-year-old legend could be headed to All Elite Wrestling.
Meanwhile, a new report raises concern regarding The Celtic Warrior’s potential move to AEW after his potential exit from WWE.
Some AEW wrestlers not on board with Sheamus joining the company after WWE exit
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live recently, Bryan Alvarez reported that some people in AEW are hesitant to have Sheamus in the promotion despite liking him, as they feel that the 48-year-old star would take away another spot on TV:
I did talk to a lot of people today in AEW who were like, ‘Are we really gonna take this guy?’ And let me make this abundantly clear – everybody I talked to, to a person, was like, ‘I really like Sheamus. I really like him.’ But the basic gist of it is, ‘There are so many people under contract, and there are so many people that already can’t even get on TV, and we’re gonna hire another 48 year old?'”
Alvarez also addressed the idea of the reunion of Sheamus and Cesaro (aka Claudio Castagnoli) in AEW:
Everyone’s got ideas like Sheamus & Cesaro, being in the Death Riders, which would be great. Nobody had anything against Sheamus personally.”
Bryan Alvarez concluded that with New Day potentially joining AEW and now Sheamus also coming in, people within the company aren’t thrilled about the idea:
It was just sort of like, ‘Here comes another one.’ Because the New Day’s probably coming in, Sheamus would be coming in. And that’s three more slots that people who have been there for a long time or who should be on the way up, they’re gonna be iced out again. People weren’t really thrilled about that idea.” [H/T WrestleTalk]
While nobody has anything against Sheamus personally and everybody likes him, people in AEW "aren't really thrilled" about the idea of him joining the company and taking another spot:

Fans will have to wait and see if The Celtic Warrior will be in All Elite Wrestling sooner rather than later.
