A WWE star was recently involved in a nightmarish car crash.

Skylar Raye is an NXT superstar who first made headlines by winning Season 2 of Legends & Future Greats alongside Shiloh Hill.

As a result, Raye earned an NXT developmental contract and made her first appearance by teaming up with Hill to beat Arianna Grace and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo in a Mixed Tag Team Christmas Chaos match on the December 16, 2025, taping.

Ever since, Raye has mainly appeared on NXT Live shows, while competing sporadically in matches on NXT. Her last bout was against Reina Volcan on the July 21 edition of the developmental brand.

The WWE star took to her Instagram account to inform her followers that she had been involved in a car crash.

The 25-year-old shared a few pictures of her face and arms, showing gruesome injuries sustained by her. A couple of photos of her vehicle depict the seriousness of the accident.

Despite the near-fatal experience, Raye sounded upbeat in her caption, calling herself the ‘toughest b*tch in this locker room’ while thanking everyone who had reached out.

⚠️⚠️⚠️ WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT. Reminder that God gave me this smile and nothing will ever take that away. Also reminder that I am the toughest b*tch in this locker room. In all seriousness, thank you to everyone who reached out. I appreciate you all so much. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk 😉

Ex-TNA Star Makes Official WWE Debut

On the same day as Skylar Raye competed against Reina Volcan, a former TNA star made his official debut for WWE NXT.

Mike Santana is a two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion and has previously competed in AEW as well.

In the main event of the July 21 edition of NXT, Tony D’Angelo defended his world title against Naraku in a Street Fight.

The two wrestlers were sent on a collision course a couple of months ago when Naraku officially signed with the Stamford promotion after quitting New Japan Pro-Wrestling in January.

What initially started as light-hearted interactions between the two superstars took a dark turn when Naraku took out D’Angelo with a fireball attack on June 23.

The champion was stretchered out, leaving dark clouds on his title reign and upcoming title defense at the Great American Bash.

However, he would return the same evening by attacking Naraku and confirming his title defense at GAB. At the Bash, he defeated Naraku despite being at a disadvantage due to his injury.

On Tuesday, in a potentially rivalry-ending bout, D’Angelo again defeated Naraku in the main event, retaining his NXT World Championship.

After the match, a familiar theme song played, showing the newly signed Mike Santana making his way through the audience.

Santana has previously wrestled in NXT, although as a representative of Total Nonstop Action. His official signing with WWE kick-starts the 35-year-old’s new journey.

P.S.: Everyone at TJR Wrestling wishes Sylar Raye a speedy recovery.
