Bayley Suddenly Replaced Ahead Of WWE SummerSlam

WWE’s latest move fuels speculation about Bayley’s future with the company.

The Role Model has been part of WWE since 2012. However, the first Women’s Grand Slam Champion’s contract is reportedly set to expire later this year if no injury time was added to her deal.

Earlier in July, Bayley squared off with Lyra Valkyria at Saturday Night’s Main Event. She suffered a shocking loss and was even brutally destroyed after the match by her rival, seemingly writing her off TV.

According to a recent report from Fightful Select, the 37-year-old has yet to sign a new contract with the Stamford-based company. Meanwhile, rumors have suggested she might be heading to AEW to reunite with her real-life best friend and former WWE tag team partner Mercedes Moné (formerly known as Sasha Banks).

The Role Model was originally advertised for the SummerSlam Tryout, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday, July 30, 2026, ahead of the premium live event.

However, the former WWE Women’s Champion has recently been replaced by Ivy Nile on the promotional graphic on Onlocation’s website. The site announced that Nile will be available for a private meet-and-greet alongside Je’Von Evans and Nattie as they check in on the new wave of prospects.

Bayley’s replacement has only fueled speculation about her WWE future. NXT star Kelani Jordan even acknowledged these rumors by asking the 37-year-old not to leave in an Instagram comment following The Role Model’s loss at Saturday Night’s Main Event. It remains to be seen what Bayley’s next move will be.
