Major Star On Suddenly Getting Unmasked By Gunther: “It’s Not Respectful”
A current WWE star has talked about getting unmasked by Gunther.
Gunther has been a dominant force in the ring ever since he first debuted in NXT UK. Since making it onto the main roster, the Ring General has only gotten more dangerous.
He became the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in history and then went on to win the World Title. The Ring General has had an incredible year in this business. He retired Goldberg, John Cena, and AJ Styles within a span of a few months. This got a lot of heat on the former World Champion. Shortly after retiring AJ Styles, the Ring General was involved in a storyline feud with Dragon Lee. Both men squared off on the March 2nd episode of WWE RAW. Gunther, being the true heel that he is, unmasked Dragon Lee, which is a sign of disrespect in lucha libre.
Dragon Lee wants another match with Gunther
During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Dragon Lee addressed the match where Gunther unmasked him. The luchador said that the mask is a sign of respect in his culture. But it was one of the best matches he had in his career, and he wishes he could wrestle the Ring General again because he never got the chance to do so after this encounter. He also clarified that it’s not respectful when the Ring General removed his mask. While there were photos circulating on social media, he believes his face was covered.
“I know, it’s a culture. This is for respect of our culture, you have to always cover your face. You will not see any wrestler in Mexico showing the face, but that was tough. Actually, was some of my best matches I ever had. Gunther is a great wrestler, but I need to wrestle with him again, because after that, I didn’t have a chance to wrestle him again. I hope I can get my second opportunity; it means so much. When he takes off my mask, it’s not respectful. Yes, many pictures on social media, but it’s not my real face, because I was covered.
