Could Vince McMahon Be Heading To AEW?

Vince McMahon parted ways with the WWE a few years ago.

Vince McMahon helped build the WWE into the global powerhouse it is today. This made him a polarizing figure in the industry. Vince was also known for being controversial.

He has found himself and WWE in troubled waters multiple times for various reasons. However, he always managed to escape. That was until Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against him and WWE in 2024, alleging that the former Chairman s**ually assaulted her, among other things. This led to his downfall as he was eventually ousted from the WWE. Since Vince left the company, there has been a lot of speculation about his future. Some fans speculated that he could join forces with Tony Khan, while some believe that he could start a new wrestling promotion since he sold his WWE stock. However, Jim Ross has now provided his take on the matter.

Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross said that it’s unlikely Vince will join AEW since the latter would prefer to be the boss. He also said that he can’t imagine Tony Khan wanting to do business with Vince.

“Unlikely. Unlikely,” Ross said. “He’s going to steer his own ship, build his own boat, and take it from there. Off top of my head, I’d say probably not, and I don’t see Tony Khan wanting to do business with him either.”

When asked whether Vince could purchase another promotion, Jim Ross didn’t rule out the possibility, stating that money won’t be an issue for him.

“It’s possible. It’s possible. Yeah, of course, it’s possible. Money won’t be an object,” Ross said. “He’s got the cash to do whatever the hell he wants. At least that’s what I think.” [H/T WrestlingNewsCo]

Jim Ross doesn’t think Vince McMahon is done with the wrestling business

During the same podcast episode, Jim Ross said that Vince McMahon isn’t completely out of the wrestling business.

“He ain’t out of the game. Vince isn’t out of the game. That’s just not his makeup,” Ross said. “What he’s going to do? One would assume he’ll have maybe some things to do with wrestling, because that’s where he made his way. So I don’t know, man. The world’s open to him. It seems like a lot of things interest him.
