BREAKING: WWE Champion Pinned On SmackDown Ahead Of SummerSlam

The first match of WWE SmackDown tonight saw a recently crowned champion be involved in singles action as their heated rivalry continued.

Last week at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley defeated Brie Bella and Paige for the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Jacy Jayne played a huge role in the match as she reversed the momentum on a surprise pin from Paige, causing Lainey to pin her and win the title.

Just days after their match, Lainey Reid was in action tonight as she faced Brie Bella in the first match of the night. Reid took control of the match early on before Brie made her comeback.

Brie Bella shocks WWE Champion

She hit Reid with the Yes Kicks before going up the top rope for a dive. However, Jacy Jayne tried to interfere once again, but before she could, Paige pulled her from the apron.

This distraction led to Bella going for a Sunset Flip Powerbomb, but Reid countered it and went for a surprise pin. However, she held onto the rope and the referee spotted it.

As she was arguing with the referee, Brie caught her in a surprise roll up and got the three count to pick up the win over one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
