BREAKING: Kenny Omega Attacks Top AEW Star, Teases Heel Turn At Redemption
Kenny Omega was scheduled to defend the AEW World Championship against Will Ospreay at AEW All In next month, but had to go through a tough hurdle.
The two-time AEW World Champion put his title on the line tonight at Redemption against the TNT Champion, Kevin Knight.
Knight has been clamoring for the World Title ever since he joined the Don Callis Family and finally got his shot at the title, against Don Callis’ biggest enemy.
Knight jumped Omega as the match introductions were still going on and posed with both belts in his hands before the bell rang.
The Jet began the match on the front foot, thanks to his pre-match attack. He had the advantage over Kenny while he was in the ring, but took matters outside.
Omega turned the tide while wrestling on the outside and began to dominate his challenger. Knight faced the wrath of the Canadian crowd, as they cheered for his former partner Speedball Mike Bailey.
With the crowd against the challenger, Kenny used his veteran skills to dominate the match. He took the fight to Knight and hit him with a Snap Suplex on the ring apron.
He followed it up with another one on the announce table before hitting him with two successive knee strikes after they both made it back into the ring.
After a brutal brawl inside, Omega retreated to the outside, and The Jet looked to launch himself off the top rope. However, he was met with a massive dropkick to the face.
The two men then climbed up the top turnbuckle, where Knight bit Omega on the head before Kenny hit a Sunset Flip powerbomb. He followed that up with a V-Trigger to the challenger.
Kenny Omega seemingly turns heel at AEW Redemption
It wasn’t enough to get him the win, though, as Knight kicked out at the last second. Knight then made a final push towards getting the title.
He grabbed the AEW World Championship and threw it across the ring to distract the referee. As the referee went to get the belt, he used the TNT Championship and hit a Uranagi on the title.
It didn’t keep Omega down as he kicked out at the last second. Kevin then went for a UFO Splash, but Omega got his knees up at the last minute.
He then picked Knight up for the One Winged Angel, but Knight jumped to his feet. As he leapt towards the champion, Omega hit him with a knee to the face and then hit the One Winged Angel to pick up the win.
Following the match, Omega was attacked by the Death Riders as Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir watched. Wheeler Yuta wrapped a steel chair around Kenny Omega’s neck.
Just as Claudio Castagnoli was about to stomp him, Will Ospreay intervened and stopped his Death Riders teammate. While Claudio tried to proceed with the stomp again, Ospreay shoved him to the ground.
If @WillOspreay wants @KennyOmegamanX at his best, that is EXACTLY what Ospreay is going to get!

He then picked up the chair and threatened to hit the Death Riders with it. Moxley entered the ring and calmed Ospreay down as he threw the chair outside the ring.
Mox then handed him a plastic bag to choke out Kenny Omega, but he refused and instead punched Moxley. He cleared the ring of all the other Death Riders that came at him.
Jon Moxley stopped Claudio from going after him with the steel chair and asked the Death Riders to leave. Ospreay then picked up the AEW World Championship and handed it to Omega as the two friends seemingly closed out the show.
However, as Ospreay celebrated with the crowd on the top rope, Kenny Omega seemingly turned heel and hit Will with a One-Winged Angel, leaving everyone surprised.
The Young Bucks joined Kenny as they were equally surprised by his actions but ultimately joined their Elite brother and hit their iconic pose as the show went off the air.
