BREAKING: WWE Star Pulled From Major Match Following Injury
WWE star Dragon Lee is currently dealing with an injury.
During week one of Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide Verano de Escándalo, Lee was scheduled to face Mecha Wolf and La Parka in a triple threat qualifier match to advance to the four-way bout for the AAA Latin American Title.
Lee recently took to social media to announce that he will not be competing in the upcoming triple threat match because he is dealing with a collateral ligament tear in his thumb.
The injury occurred sometime during the end of his tag-team match alongside Je’Von Evans against Austin Theory and Bron Breakker on WWE Raw (July 20). After undergoing X-rays and an MRI, medical staff confirmed the ligament tear.
Doctors have ordered him to step away from the ring to go home and heal, meaning he is temporarily sidelined from in-ring action.
Lince Dorado Will Fill In For WWE Star Dragon Lee
As a result, Lince Dorado will fill the empty spot Lee left behind in his match and compete in the qualifiers. The qualifier match was postponed to week two of Verano de Escándalo on August 1st.
First Lee, now Lince is fighting for the AAA Latin American Championship that El Hijo Del Vikingo had to vacate due to his knee surgery.
A new champion is set to be crowned at TripleMania 34 in September in a four-way match. Multiple superstars are vying for the fatal four-way spot at TripleMania via Triple Threat qualifiers.

Dragon Lee has been competing in AAA since 2019. His debut match was against Kenny Omega at TripleMania Regia in December 2019, where he lost to Omega in a match for the AAA Mega Championship.
Lee joined WWE in 2022 and has been signed with the company ever since. Given the WWE and AAA partnership, he has been working for both promotions simultaneously.
