Secret Vince McMahon WWE Return Isn’t Ruled Out
Vince McMahon could return to the WWE secretly.
Vince McMahon is a polarizing figure in the world of professional wrestling. He is responsible for turning the WWE into a global sports entertainment juggernaut. Vince was also known for being controversial in nature.
McMahon was ousted from the WWE a few years ago after Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against him alleging s**ual misconduct. Since then, Vince’s reputation has been dragged through the mud, and he has never been able to recover. He also sold his TKO stock and has been keeping quiet. However, many people have started speculating about his future, with some even suggesting that he could return to the wrestling industry in some way.
Dave Meltzer thinks Vince McMahon could make a secret WWE return
During a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Garrett Gonzales started the topic from a listener question of whether Vince McMahon could return to the WWE in a shadow role.
“His second question—not saying TK would bring him back—but just curious if Vince is the type of person who would be happy with a shadow role, or is he the type that needs credit and needs people to know he’s the one in charge?”
Dave Meltzer speculated that Vince would be happy with a shadow role at this stage of his career.
“He’ll be happy with the shadow role if they offered it, at this stage of the game. Yeah. At another stage of the game, I would say differently, but right now, yeah.”
He said that if WWE wants to bring Vince back without publicizing it, he would consider it a victory and accept their offer.
“I think that if they went to him and go, ‘We want to bring you back, but don’t publicize it,’ I think that he would consider that a victory—the victory that he needs and he wants.”
He compared it to Vince Russo secretly working with TNA Wrestling without disclosing his role.
“It’s the Russo and TNA thing. It’s like, it’s better to have that and still get it, even if people don’t know. Of course, in the end, we’re all going to figure it out anyway.”
However, Dave Meltzer isn’t convinced that WWE wouldn’t want to publicize his return since that would get people interested.
“My gut is their mentality, if they bring him back, is they want the big announcement. I think that everyone’s going to cheer. I think some people would get a bad taste in their mouth if that happens, but I think that’s what would happen.” [H/T Ringside News]
