Dominik Mysterio was back to his heel shenanigans over the weekend.

The Judgment Day member is the AAA Mega Champion in AAA Lucha Libre in Mexico, where he announced an alliance with El Grande Americano against the villainous faction of Los Perros del Mal.

A couple of weeks ago, Dominik interrupted a backstage segment between Americano and Rey Mysterio as they discussed the revival of Daga & Co., who had been tormenting the masked luchador for weeks. While Americano had backups in Rayo and Bravo, Dominik Mysterio stepped up to offer his services, which the former gladly accepted.

Last week, Mysterio even saved Americano when he was outnumbered against Los Perros during the main event. ‘Dirty’ Dom subsequently challenged Daga to a tag team match, telling him to pick a partner of his choice as he announced his team-up with Americano.

During the July 25 taping, at Verano de Escándalo, Americano and Mysterio caught up backstage in harmless banter, considering they are scheduled to face each other on Night 2 of AAA Triplemania on September 13.

Dominik Mysterio Betrays El Grande Americano And Joins El Ojo

Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano kicked off their tag match against Daga and Angel Garza strongly on Saturday.

The bout witnessed hard-hitting action and frequent tags to keep things interesting, with mismatched pairs looking to get a one-up over the other.

At one point, a fatigued Americano inadvertently sent Garza into the referee, sending the official crashing out of the ring.

This gave the remaining members of Los Perros del Mal a chance to come out and attack Americano and Mysterio, with Bronco Nima sending Mysterio spine-first into the exposed turnbuckle.

The heel quartet then targeted Americano as the AAA Mega Champion recovered outside. This led Rayo and Bravo to jump to their comrade’s aid. Bravo even climbed a lighting rig and launched himself onto others standing below.

As the brawl continued, Bronco Nima disposed of the Los Americanos by putting them through the commentator’s desk.

Just as El Grande Americano crawled towards Dominik Mysterio for a tag, the Judgment Day member backed off, leaving Americano in a lurch.

The finish came shortly afterward, as Los Perros del Mal pinned Americano for the victory.

A dejected Rey Mysterio expressed his frustration on commentary, and the fans in the arena did not let their voices go unheard either.

But what followed was even more shocking. As Dominik headed backstage, he was joined by El Ojo members Omos and Dorian Roldán, prompting more jeers from the crowd.

It is possible that AAA Lucha Libre went in that direction due to El Hijo del Vikingo’s recent injury, which will keep him out of action for several months.
