Ex-WWE Star: “My Wife Supported Me; She Was A Stripper”

A former WWE star has just made a huge revelation.

Buff Bagwell first made a name for himself in WCW, where he worked for several years. During his time in WCW, Buff Bagwell found a lot of success. He was Tag Team Champion and was also part of the infamous nWo faction.

When WCW shut its doors, Bagwell moved to WWE. In his first match for the company, Bagwell competed against Booker T for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. His time in the sports entertainment juggernaut didn’t last long, as he was fired from the company because his mom allegedly used to call the offices and request time off for her son to heal from an injury. Although he turned out to have a successful wrestling career, he had to make a lot of sacrifices to get to that point.

Former WWE star Buff Bagwell says his wife supported him while he pursued a wrestling career

During a recent appearance on Kings of the Ring, Buff Bagwell offered some advice to the host who had previously started wrestling school. He said that wrestling shouldn’t be treated as a weekend hobby or else it will take a long time to make it in this business. He even advised the host to move in with his parents to save money.

“I would say, go at it 100%. It’s going to be hard to work another job and be a weekend-warrior thing. It’s going to take you too long to get in it. If you are not in a situation where you can try to be a professional wrestler 24 hours a day, seven days a week, it’s going to take you too long.

I would advise you to move in with your parents and do whatever you had to do so that you can eat, sleep and live to be a pro wrestler. That’s what I did.”

Speaking about his own career, the former WWE star revealed that he was on a fast track to WCW, which isn’t a good thing. He said it took him three years to make it to WCW.

“Nobody really talks about this because it’s not a good thing, but I was on a fast track, brother, to WCW. Again, it ain’t like bragging. It ain’t a good thing. It’s lucky, and a lot of times you’re not ready.

But, brother, from the time I graduated high school—not thinking about being a pro wrestler—I was at WCW in three years. I was in massage therapy school for 10 months, so it was a fast track, brother, to WCW. And that ain’t wrestling. That’s three years to WCW, bro.”

Buff Bagwell also added that all he thought about was wrestling during this time.

“It was a real fast track, but I’m telling you, part of that fast track was that I was trying to be a wrestler 24/7. I woke up—it was gym, eat, tan, to the ring, train, tan. I didn’t have a job. I didn’t do anything else.”

He also revealed that his wife supported him by stripping to pay the bills so that he could pursue wrestling.

“My wife supported me. She was a stripper, and she supported me. I became a pro wrestler and got her out of the stripping thing. That was our team work. That was our plan, and that’s what we did.” [H/T Ringside News]

It’s good that Buff Bagwell had the support of his wife while he was trying to pursue a wrestling career.
