WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles Might Come Out of Retirement

AJ Styles retired from active competition at Royal Rumble 2026 following his singles loss to Gunther. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame class of 2026.

Following his retirement, he appeared on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story? podcast, where he teased a return to the ring. He stated that he might one day come out of retirement to team up with his son.

I don’t know. I don’t know. Never say never, right? That’s the saying. I think everybody is allowed at least once to come out of retirement. I’m not saying I’ll do it anytime soon. I’m just saying that, what if my son wrestles? The opportunity to tag with him once? You never know. There will be a time when the gloves never go back on, and it may be now. We’ll see.

Now that AJ’s son is making his in-ring debut, the WWE Universe might see The Phenomenal One return to the ring somewhere down the line. Styles is currently signed to WWE as a talent scout and NXT mentor.
