Ric Flair Breaks Down In Tears Addressing Hulk Hogan’s Passing
During their heyday, Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan shared an intense professional rivalry.
However, what most people don’t know is that they shared a close friendship outside the wrestling ring.
Earlier in the day, TMZ Sports reported that Hogan had died of a cardiac arrest, aged 71.
Ever since, love and support have continued to flow in for the Hogan family, including a heartbreaking message from Flair.
Ric Flair also spoke directly to TMZ in an interview, breaking down while addressing Hogan’s death.
People always wanted to paint us as enemies, but we were actually very close friends and we kept up with each other on a regular basis. I just talked to Jimmy Hart yesterday, and he was fine. To have this happen is just horrible.
The 16-time world champion also spoke about the personal connection that he had with Hogan.
We had magic. I mean, it wasn’t like me and (Ricky) Steamboat, but we just had a chemistry that was, I felt like equal to me and Steamboat, but in a different way.
Flair also claimed they were always friends, regardless of their intense in-ring rivalry or how the media presented them as being on opposite sides.
Ric Flair Is Cancer-Free
Ric Flair recently shared a positive update about his health, confirming that he was cancer-free.
After initially denying reports, the Nature Boy confirmed suffering from skin cancer. The diagnosis also resulted in the cancellation of several scheduled appearances.
The 76-year-old has dealt with various health issues in the last year, including a time when he was put in a medically induced coma after being hospitalized for stomach pains.
