New details have come to light regarding the issues between WWE and CM Punk.

CM Punk has been one of the top stars in the WWE ever since his return to the company in 2023. Since then, he has been a regular feature on TV and even went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship last year.

It looked like CM Punk and Triple H had put their past issues behind them and had moved on. After Punk lost the World Title to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42, he made an appearance the following night on WWE RAW, where he teased a future match against Cody Rhodes. Since then, he has not been seen on WWE TV, leaving fans to wonder about his absence. Meanwhile, an X user, JCup2013, posted a series of tweets claiming that CM Punk had been politicking behind the scenes at WrestleMania 42, which put him in the bad books with WWE and TKO. This user also reported that Punk requested his release and threatened legal action after he was asked to take a pay cut. A WWE source reportedly denied that there is any truth to these rumors.

CM Punk is planned for a WWE return soon

According to a report from Fightful Select, they were repeatedly informed that CM Punk is planned for a WWE return. It was previously reported that he is planned to make a move to SmackDown. Several wrestlers and staff have also reportedly confirmed that they have not heard anything about a dispute between WWE and the Second City Saint.

“It has been repeatedly reiterated to us this week that CM Punk is planned for a WWE return. Wrestling Observer reported he’s planned for the Smackdown brand. A number of wrestlers and staff reached out to claim they had also not heard anything to the rumors of issues regarding he and WWE. We will keep an ear out.”

It will be interesting to see when CM Punk will make his WWE return and whether he will go after the Undisputed WWE Championship on SmackDown soon after his return.
