Bryan Danielson’s AEW status has been revealed.

Bryan Danielson is widely regarded as one of the best technical wrestlers in the world. He first made a name for himself in ROH before signing with WWE. During his tenure with WWE, Danielson became one of the top stars in the company.

He won multiple World Titles. However, his neck injury always held him back and even forced him into retirement for a while. However, he persevered and finally returned to the ring. After his run with the sports entertainment juggernaut ended, he moved to AEW, where he continued to achieve success as part of the Blackpool Combat Club. He even captured the AEW World Championship. However, Jon Moxley turned on him and eventually defeated him for the World Title. Since then, he has not competed in a televised match. Instead, he returned to AEW TV to be a commentator. However, in recent weeks he has not been seen on the commentary team, leaving many fans to wonder what happened to him.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Bryan Danielson is still with AEW and is part of the creative team. However, it is still unknown if he is traveling to every show.

“Yes [he is still with AEW], and still contributes creatively. I’m not sure how often he’s actually at the shows or anything like that, but he still contributes I believe. I know the travel could be tough on him physically. I’m not sure if Brie being on the road for WWE has adjusted things for him, but that would make a lot of sense.” [H/T Ringside News]

Bryan Danielson was responsible for Big E’s singles run

When Bryan Danielson took a break from wrestling due to his neck injury, he was part of the creative team. This move ended up benefitting Big E. During an interview with Westwood One Sports, Big E revealed that he didn’t think he was ever going to get a World Title opportunity. However, Bryan Danielson suggested he get a shot as a singles performer. This eventually led him to win the WWE Championship.

“For the longest time, I didn’t even know if I was even going to sniff a world title opportunity. I’m so grateful, I’ve got to give a lot of credit, if it wasn’t for guys like Daniel Bryan, who was in creative at the time. He was the one who said, look, I think we should do something with Big E as a singles performer. When he gave me that opportunity and creative said, okay let’s do it, I took the IC Title off Sami. I dropped it to Apollo but after that, it wasn’t like cooling off, it was going from the IC Title to now, let’s get you moving towards Money In The Bank.” [H/T Fightful]

Bryan Danielson made the right call to push Big E at the correct time.
