WWE Hall Of Famer Hulk Hogan Dies Aged 71
WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has died aged 71.
TMZ Sports has reported that WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away aged 71 after suffering cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida.
The report notes that several police cars and ambulances were on the scene, with Hogan being carried from his home into an ambulance on a stretcher.
The news comes days after worrying news came to light regarding Hogan’s recent health.
Hulk Hogan Revolutionised The Wrestling Business
Hulk Hogan was the figurehead of the wrestling boom in the 1980s as Rock and Wrestling bore the fruit that turned into WrestleMania. Legions of Hulkamaniacs grew up idolising Hogan, with red and yellow becoming the colours most closely associated with the star.
His time in WWE came to an end in the early nineties under somewhat of a cloud due to the steroid trial brought by the United States Government against WWE owner Vince McMahon. Hulk Hogan soon reemerged in WCW, where in 1996 he helped revolutionise the business again, throwing out red and yellow in favour of black and white as he formed the NWO with Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.
The NWO all returned to WWE in 2002, with Hogan going on to have a legendary match with The Rock at WrestleMania 18 before one last run as Undisputed WWE Champion.
Later in his career, Hogan spent time in TNA, where he was reunited with his ex-WCW boss, Eric Bischoff. Hulk Hogan’s reputation was tarnished when extremely racist comments by Hogan came to light, comments many feel Hogan never apologised for.
Hulk Hogan’s last appearance in WWE came on Raw’s debut show on Netflix, where he promoted his Real American Beer company. Hogan had been slated to be the commissioner for the Real American Freestyle Wrestling promotion put together by himself and Eric Bischoff.
TJR Wrestling sends its condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Hulk Hogan.
