Ex-WWE Champion Confirms He Will Never Wrestle Again
A former WWE champion will never wrestle again.
Heidenreich wrestled for the WWE from 2003 to 2006. He was initially pushed during the start of his WWE career. He had a long feud with The Undertaker that lasted several months. This feud would come to define Heidenreich’s run with the sports entertainment juggernaut.
These two men locked horns in three televised singles matches during this time. The Undertaker was able to win all three bouts. Their last match took place at the 2005 Royal Rumble. Following this feud, he formed a tag team with Road Warrior Animal called the Legion of Doom. They even captured the WWE Tag Team Championship. Heidenreich parted ways with the Stamford-based promotion in 2006. Following this, he went on to work on the independent scene for a while. His last wrestling match took place in 2018.
Former WWE star Heidenreich said he is not able to wrestle a full match
During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Heidenreich was asked if he could wrestle again. The former WWE star said that he can’t do a complete match, but he could do a run-in or manage somebody.
“No, I don’t think I could do a real match. I could maybe do run-in stuff or something, or manage somebody, that’d be crazy. Heidenreich managing somebody? He’d be mismanaged!”
When asked about his health, Heidenreich said that he had some heart issues, but he is still in good shape due to all the sports he’s played in his life. He also revealed that he has degenerative arthritis everywhere. He also said that his body is beat up due to the violent nature of football and wrestling.
“I mean, I had some heart issues. But my blood pressure’s down and my weight’s down. I’m not doing anything crazy like I used to do a long time ago. So, considering all the sports I did my whole life, I’m in good shape. I mean, they say I need to replace my left knee, because I had to reconstruct it, and I have degenerative arthritis everywhere. Like I told you, the bone spurs in my spine. I don’t think they removed any, they said don’t wrestle anymore. That was from car wrecks, football, wrestling, because I was in sports when I was six years old. Then football is pretty violent, and wrestling is too, so I mean, my health, I’m beat up, but I’m not overweight. I would like to start getting in a regular training deal again. I was riding my bike around for transportation and travel, but it’s too dangerous if you, I crashed twice and broke a bunch of stuff, and that’s not cool. I gave up to two wheel anythings.” [H/T Chrisvanvliet.com]
It’s good to see that Heidenreich is not willing to return to the ring given his health issues.
