Since signing with WWE in 2010, Roman Reigns has remained a loyalist.

Over the years, he has amassed a wealth of in-ring experience as a singles wrestler and as part of multiple factions. As one of the faces of the company, Reigns also has creative freedom.

He became a world champion for the 7th time at WrestleMania 42 by defeating CM Punk. On the following Raw episode, he reunited with his cousins, Jey and Jimmy Uso, and entered a feud with his other cousin, Jacob Fatu.

Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu had title matches at Backlash and Clash in Italy, wherein Reigns emerged victorious. In the Raw episode following the Turin PLE, Fatu joined the newly revived Bloodline faction after acknowledging the 41-year-old champion as his Tribal Chief.

Elsewhere, the OTC’s creative freedom was briefly a topic of discussion on a recent episode of Self Made Sessions, where Ibou revealed that Reigns rejected a pitch, forcing WWE President Nick Khan to intervene and convince him.

There’s been one occasion I know for a fact last year where Roman [Reigns] wasn’t really keen on doing something, they had to get Nick Khan involved. Nick Khan had to go, ‘Hey, Joe, we really like you to do this,’ and then Roman did it. [H/T: Spotskeeda]

Ibou not revealing which storyline Roman Reigns rejected leaves it open to speculation among fans. Of late, WWE higher-ups and the TKO Group have also received flak for interfering in the creative process. As of this moment, it is unclear whether or not Nick Khan’s involvement was along the same lines.

Roman Reigns Keeping A Close Eye On King Of The Ring Tournament

As the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Roman Reigns has a huge target on his back.

Meanwhile, the King of the Ring tournament got underway a couple of weeks ago, with the final match of the opening round scheduled to take place on Friday’s SmackDown taping.

On June 12, Jey Uso, LA Knight, Finn Balor, and Royce Keys will square off in a 4-way match, with the winner taking on Je’Von Evans in the semi-final.

In the other semi-final bout, Oba Femi will face Dominik Mysterio.

The winner of the tournament will receive a world title shot, with Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes as the two options.

LA Knight, who is unhappy with The Bloodline’s reunion, has already fired shots at Reigns, making his intention clear about winning the tournament and challenging him for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Oba Femi is also being speculated as a strong contender to go all the way and challenge Roman Reigns at SummerSlam in August.

The winner of the tournament will be crowned at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on June 27. Reigns is not advertised for the Riyadh PLE.
