WWE Icon AJ Lee Makes Major Family Decision: “She Said, ‘Never'”
A recent tragic incident forced AJ Lee to make a drastic family decision.
AJ Lee and CM Punk lost their beloved rescue dog, Larry, last year in December. Larry was not just a pet; they considered him their own child. Losing Larry left a big hole in their hearts, and AJ Lee doesn’t want to fill it with the presence of another dog.
Speaking on the latest episode of Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast, CM Punk revealed Lee has decided not to get another pet. Punk said he’s open to adopting another dog, but AJ has straight-up refused because the loss is too much for her.
“No. I probably would, but she won’t.”
CM Punk And AJ Lee Miss Larry A Lot
CM Punk added that when he recently returned to his Chicago home, he found chunks of Larry’s fur while vacuuming and wanted to save it. He also hid all of Larry’s stuff before AJ Lee reached home, to avoid her having to deal with resurfacing painful memories of their dead dog.
“I wasn’t expecting it. I dumped it, and I saw nothing but Larry fur. It was all Larry hair. I had a moment where I wanted to reach in and save it…I hid all the stuff because I got there before April did. I was like, ‘Nope, hiding it.’ I got everything out of the way…. Yes, he was (my baby). I miss him.”
Punk stated that while losing Larry has been very tough on him and his wife, they are using the extra time to travel, something they didn’t get to do much while Larry was alive.
“Honestly, I’m not saying it’s a silver lining, because I would rather have him, but we got married and got Larry maybe eight months—or 12 months—after. We haven’t been able to travel or anything, so that’s what we’ve been doing for the last two months. Traveling.”
