“People Are Gonna Lose Their Sh*t” If Ex-WWE Champion Joins AEW And Attacks MJF

A former WWE champion recently left the company.

Sheamus has been a mainstay on WWE TV for several years since he made his debut. At one point, he was the fastest-growing superstar after he defeated John Cena to win his first WWE Championship.

Over the course of his WWE run, Sheamus won several World Titles with the company. He accomplished pretty much everything there was to do except win the Intercontinental Championship. Sadly, the Celtic Warrior’s prominence on TV diminished over the past few months. It was recently reported that Sheamus was offered a contract extension, but he turned it down because it would’ve required him to take a pay cut. Therefore, WWE cancelled his contract. Following his departure from the sports entertainment juggernaut, MJF called him out on social media and dared him to “bring that smoke.”

Speaking on TMZ Inside the Ring, Luke Gallows pitched for Sheamus to make his AEW debut and attack MJF.

“You see that MJF and him teased each other [on social media], if he pops out, the arena goes dark and the lights come on and he pump kicks his head off, people are gonna lose their sh*t,” Gallows said. [H/T WrestlingNews.co]

JBL thinks Sheamus leaving WWE could be good for him

Speaking on his Something to Wrestle podcast, JBL said that Sheamus will be rejuvenated when he joins another promotion. He also suggested that the Celtic Warrior could go to AAA. Alternatvely, he also thinks it would be fantastic for Sheamus to got to AEW or Japan.

“As you get older, his career is kind of winding down at WWE. I don’t know if he’s staying or going somewhere else, but I think he should go somewhere else. He’ll be rejuvenated. This is why something like AAA is great — he could go down there if he wanted to, and that’s still part of WWE.

I understand that he may want to go outside the tent completely and go to AEW, go to Japan, go somewhere else.

And if he does, I think he’ll be fantastic. I think he’ll be kind of rejuvenated. Anytime you’re in the same territory for a very long time, which is what he’s done, you have to go through a bunch of rejuvenation phases, and this is the perfect opportunity for him.” (H/T 411Mania)
