Likely Reason For Triple H’s Animosity Towards WWE Legend The Rock

Triple H and The Rock were bitter rivals during WWE’s Attitude Era, but their rivalry was not limited to on-screen competition. They reportedly had some real-life heat due to multiple reasons.

Hunter and Rock have reportedly mended their professional relationship, but some reports and incidents have hinted that there is still some real-life bad blood between them.

Jonathan Coachman recently spoke about the alleged heat between HHH and The Brahma Bull on the latest episode of The 2 Count podcast. He stated that a major reason behind HHH’s animosity toward Rock is the latter’s massive success in Hollywood.

Triple H Is Jealous Of The Rock

Coachman claimed that, like The People’s Champion, Hunter also wanted to make it big in Hollywood, but his legacy remained largely limited to wrestling, whereas The Rock went on to become a major name in both sports entertainment and the Hollywood industry. Therefore, HHH is jealous of Rock.

“I was in the room with 10 people. That’s it. Triple H wanted to be a movie star. He did not make any bones about it. And when he was in Blade 3, that was his first major motion picture. Who do you think they flew to Toronto to host the red carpet? This guy. That’s what he wanted. And as much as he wants to run the WWE, think about Rock, John Cena, now Roman, Cody, MJF. They’re all movie stars.”

“There is a gigantic jealousy component to this whole thing. I’ll give Triple H his flowers in wrestling, but when you live a long career and a long life, you want to expound. You want to expand. And he’s never been allowed to do that. So his whole legacy is wrestling. And I believe it eats at him. I really, really do.”
