A WWE Hall of Famer has an idea for Triple H regarding one of the company’s biggest names.

It seems like every former wrestler with a podcast has an idea about a heel or face turn for current wrestlers. It’s something fans tend to do when watching wrestling shows, and the same goes for the people who were in the business as well.

The most popular name that is usually urged to turn heel is former 3-time WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, who has been a top babyface in WWE for over four years and remains one of the most beloved wrestlers on the roster.

CM Punk became the Undisputed WWE Champion on the July 6th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw and is now a beloved 8-time WWE World Champion. Since coming back to WWE in November 2023, Punk has been locked in as a top babyface, even though he has said he’s not there to make friends; he’s there to make money.

John Bradshaw Layfield is a WWE Hall of Famer who was still wrestling during Punk’s first run in the company. While speaking on the Something to Wrestle podcast, the former WWE Champion JBL said that he likes Punk more when he’s a heel.

“I prefer Punk as a heel. I think he’s a great heel. I think he’s a good babyface too, but I think he’s a great heel

I like Punk, and I like him as a babyface. I just don’t like babyfaces. I hate them all. I really do. I think he’d be a great heel, and I love him as a heel.”

As for how CM Punk looks, many WWE viewers have remarked that he appears to be in great shape, and JBL noted that as well.

“CM Punk’s in great shape, huh? Unbelievable, man, he looks fantastic.” (H/T Wrestlingnewsco)

Triple H Criticized For Putting WWE Title On Sami Zayn

CM Punk’s title win on Raw ended Sami Zayn’s WWE Title reign at just 9 days. A 9-day title reign with no successful title defenses is the definition of a transitional champion.

Former WWE announcer/character Jonathan Coachman, who spent over a decade in the company, posted a video online complaining about how Triple H booked Sami Zayn in the story that saw him lose the WWE Title after just nine days.

I never talk about guys from a personal level. I talk about them from a character level. The character Sami Zayn? No, I didn’t think he should’ve been champion. But on the human level, because I’ve been around so many guys, I’ve been in WWE for over a decade. These are real human beings, real people who show up every single day saying, ‘Man, do I have what it takes? Do they believe in me as a company?’”

And how you believe in somebody is by making them a champion, by giving them a push, by saying, ‘Yes, we believe in you to be the guy who’s going to carry this company for a certain period of time.’”

As he continued, Coachman blasted Triple H for how Zayn was treated.

“So how excited do you think Sami Zayn was when he walked in two, three weeks ago and they said, ‘Here’s the plan. You’re going to be the Undisputed Champion for the very first time in your career. Congratulations.’

Triple H even did the finger point of doom right after he won. Did he look excited? No, because Triple H knew what they were getting ready to do. I feel bad for Sami Zayn, I do. I would feel bad for anyone who got given a championship at the highest level just to be told, ‘You are nothing more than a placeholder.’”
