WWE Star Taken Out Of Survivor Series Match

WWE Survivor Series over Carlito Santos Escobar

The issues between the LWO and Santos Escobar escalated even further on SmackDown leading WWE to change one Survivor Series bout.

Santos Escobar turned his back on Rey Mysterio and the rest of the LWO after Carlito accused Escobar of being the reason Mysterio lost his US Championship to Logan Paul at Crown Jewel.

Escobar took out the WWE Hall of Famer and Rey Mysterio has since undergone knee surgery which will keep him out of action until 2024. As a result, Escobar was set to face Carlito in a huge grudge match at Survivor Series but following SmackDown in Chicago, that now won’t happen.

WWE Makes Big Change For Santos Escobar At Survivor Series

On SmackDown, Carlito and Santos Escobar came face-to-face and aired out their issues with one another. Things quickly broke down into a brawl and Escobar laid a sick kick into the arm of Carlito. With Carlito getting help backstage, Escobar attacked again until he was run off by Dragon Lee.

That led to the SmackDown General Manager revealing that Carlito wouldn’t be able to compete at Survivor Series and Dragon Lee begged Aldis to make him Escobar’s opponent instead and so the match was made.

Reports recently suggested WWE wants Dragon Lee involved on-screen with Rey Mysterio so this Survivor Series pivot certainly seems to point to that being true.
