Rey Mysterio Attacked By LWO Star On WWE SmackDown

Rey Mysterio LWO

Rey Mysterio had it coming according to his now former LWO teammate Santos Escobar who attacked the WWE Hall of Famer on SmackDown.

SmackDown in Columbus, Ohio opened with Rey Mysterio and most of the LWO in the ring as the former US Champion reflected on his loss to Logan Paul at Crown Jewel. Logan Paul defeated Mysterio in Saudi Arabia to claim the first gold of his wrestling career. Mysterio noted that he wouldn’t have lost if it wasn’t for Paul using the brass knuckles and vowed to get a rematch against Paul.

Carlito then marched to the ring and did not look pleased with what he heard. Carlito told Rey Mysterio that it’s not Logan Paul who should take the blame for his loss but rather the person who left the brass knuckles within easy reach of The Maverick – Santos Escobar. Escobar and Carlito shouted at one another before Escobar left through the crowd.

Santos Escobar Attacks Rey Mysterio

Bobby Lashley made his way to the ring for his match with Carlito but things ended in absolute chaos for the LWO. The Street Profits and Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro ended up brawling at ringside while Lashley nailed Carlito with a Spear to pick up the win.

Santos Escobar made his way back to the ring to help the LWO out in the fight, but when Lashley and the Profits turned the attack to Carlito, Escobar hesitated to help out. Rey Mysterio returned with a chair to chase off Lashley and the Profits before scolding Escobar for not acting.

Escobar then attacked Mysterio but when he tried to clear Carlito out of the ring, Mysterio fought back slapping Escobar in the face. A conflicted Rey Mysterio then tried to help Escobar to his feet to end the family fallout but Santos Escobar took out Mysterio and ended up driving the steel steps into Mysterio’s leg which was trapped between the steps and the ring post.

Zelina Vega made her presence felt as she pulled Escobar off Mysterio and the former NXT Cruiserweight Champion walked away while the rest of the LWO tended to their fallen Hall of Famer. Whether or not this means Escobar is officially out of the LWO remains to be seen.
