One of WWE’s most popular stars will miss Survivor Series.

On November 14th, Rey Mysterio confirmed that he’d undergone knee surgery. The WWE Hall of Famer has a history of knee issues thanks to his high-flying style and confirmed in 2022 that he’d already undergone 12 surgeries on his left knee.

It’s now been reported by Nick Hausman of Haus of Wrestling that Mysterio had been struggling with a torn meniscus for three months before taking time off. With the issue getting progressively worse, the star agreed to lose the United States Title and take part in a beatdown angle so he could be written off television.

The report adds that Mysterio is expected to miss around 6-8 weeks of action, confirming that he won’t be wrestling at Survivor Series. However, he will be back in time for the Royal Rumble, and will likely resume his new rivalry with Santos Escobar.

WWE Star Takes Shot At Rey Mysterio

The beatdown mentioned above came on the November 10th episode of SmackDown, when trouble hit the LWO. During a brawl between the group and Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits, Escobar hesitated while getting involved. This led Mysterio to question the star, before Escobar turned on his mentor, attacking the Hall of Famer.

Posting on social media, Santos Escobar reacted to Rey Mysterio’s surgery by telling him not to come back.
