Triple H Called Out Over WWE Booking Of Jey Uso
The WWE CCO, Triple H got slammed for the current booking of Jey Uso.
Since 2023, Jey Uso has elevated himself as a singles star, and fans have been yeeting behind him. The rise in Jey’s popularity led to him winning the Royal Rumble and the World Heavyweight title last year. The Main Event Jey is currently in the King of the Ring tournament, and he has reached the final. He is set to take on Oba Femi in the final at Night of Champions 2026.
However, many fans on the internet have heavily criticised Triple H’s creative team for overpushing Jey Uso in the main event scene. Meanwhile, the former WWE personality, Jonathan Coachman has also questioned Jey’s creative booking.
Triple H blasted for Jey Uso’s booking
Speaking on 2 Count Tuesday, Jonathan Coachman questioned how Jey Uso is still in a position to challenge for the World title despite losing it in 51 days last year:
We wondered if they would do the ascent and just let Oba steamroll through everybody in this tournament. I’m trying to figure out how, a year after Jey Uso, when they decided after 51 days that he was not worthy of being a World Heavyweight Champion, they’re now putting him in a position where we’re supposed to believe he is going to legitimately challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship.”
Coach also speculated that WWE would turn Jey Uso heel to go after Roman Reigns after winning the King of the Ring, which makes Oba Femi less important:
The only thing I can think of, JD, is that they’re going to turn him heel. They want him to go against Roman. He’s going to challenge Roman and challenge the Head of the Table. And if that’s the case, then that makes this match more about Jey, doesn’t it, than it does about Oba? I think that is another bad creative move.”
Coach also called out Triple H and his creative team for prioritizing the Bloodline story over new stars like Oba Femi:
My gut tells me this — that they’ve said, ‘You know what, Oba is young. Oba is new. Oba has time for us to build up that storyline.’ I think this tells me, it tells us, that the number one most important thing to Triple H and the creative team is the Bloodline, and what Bloodline 2.3.4.0 is going to look like. This is going to be the true launch of it.” [H/T Ringside News]
It will be interesting to see if Jey Uso ends up winning the King of the Ring tournament.
