WWE teased a major nickname for the former World Heavyweight Champion, Jey Uso, after the most recent episode of SmackDown.

Jey Uso joined the WWE back in 2010 alongside his twin brother Jimmy Uso as ‘The Usos’ tag team. Jey spent most of his tenure as a tag team wrestler and has been an 11-time tag team champion as well. During the iconic Bloodline storyline from 2020 to 2024, Jey also had great character development, as he was elevated into being a singles star during his rivalry with Roman Reigns.

Jey Uso later became the Intercontinental title as a singles star and surprised everyone by winning the 2025 men’s Royal Rumble match as well. Following his Rumble win, Jey went on to defeat Gunther at WrestleMania 41 and captured the World Heavyweight Championship. However, Jey’s World title reign lasted only 51 days before he lost it back to Gunther.

Towards the end of last year, Jey reunited with Jimmy Uso and was back to being a tag team wrestler, which many fans saw as his demotion on the card. Speaking with Cody Rhodes on What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast earlier this year, Jey said he still considers himself a top guy in the WWE and claims to be competing with top stars like Cody, Seth Rollins, and more:

We’re all still competing. Especially with you (Cody Rhodes), I still compete with you. Man, come on, man. Come on. I still compete with you, I still compete with Seth (Rollins). I look at the top homies. Man, I consider myself a top guy, and internet, whatever. Y’all say — whatever… I’m him. I’m ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso now. Y’all know which twin I am now,” Jey said.

WWE hinted at an official nickname for Jey Uso after WWE SmackDown this week

Following his tag team run with Jimmy Uso for months, Jey Uso is back to being a singles star, as he is participating in the ongoing King of the Ring tournament. This week on SmackDown, Jey shockingly won his fatal-four-way match to advance to the tournament’s semi-finals.

Following Jey’s surprising win, WWE teased the nickname ‘King Jey’ for him after he advanced in the King of the Ring:

King Jey?! 🤔 Jey Uso moves on in the King of the Ring Tournament! 👑”

It will be interesting to see if Main Event Jey ends up winning the King of the Ring tournament this year.
