Sami Zayn Will Allegedly Win WWE Championship At Night Of Champions 2026
Sami Zayn is tipped to capture the Undisputed WWE Championship this Saturday at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Last Real Good Guy has been involved in a storyline with Gunther and the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes over the past few weeks on SmackDown. He will now face both superstars in a Triple Threat match for the title at Night of Champions.
Speaking on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. predicted that Zayn would win his first-ever world title in the Saudi capital.
The Hollywood star claimed The Bloodline would soon capture all the gold in the men’s division, suggesting the company would rather have Jey Uso win the King of the Ring tournament and beat Zayn for the title instead of defeating The American Nightmare of The Ring General.
Let me tell you a tale. Jey Uso, one of your favorites because of the yeet. You know, he’s in this King of the Ring tournament, and he ran into Sami Zayn backstage, and so I guess Bloodline business is in Cody’s business as well because they’ve had some backstage segments as well. You can’t escape The Bloodline. But him and Sami, you know, they were friends. Sami earned the friendship and the trust of The Bloodline and even got ucy and made them break and laugh.
And so there’s love there and there’s trust there. And he helped Jey break away from Roman the first time. And they’re reminiscing for a moment, but just a brief moment. And he says, ‘Hey man, I’m gonna win this King of the Ring tournament. I’m gonna get that belt, and I’m going to bring it back to The Bloodline.’ And Sami’s like, ‘Yeah, but what if that person you face is me, bro?’ And all of a sudden, there was this little seed in my mind.
I was like, ‘Oh, what if Sami planned all this from the very, very beginning because he couldn’t get a title shot. He couldn’t earn it the old-fashioned way. So, he had to, as Jeff Dye said, wiggle his way and weasel his way into someone else’s business, someone else’s storyline by any means necessary, and he found his way ‘accidentally’ in a world championship match for the most prestigious belt in the business and it’s a triple threat, which means Cody doesn’t even have to lose the belt. And who would you rather, The Bloodline I think is gonna have all the belts pretty soon in the men’s division. And who would you rather Jey beat? would you rather him beat Cody Rhodes, [Sami Zayn] or Gunther to bring that title back?
To me, the most obvious choice would have him beat Sami Zayn for that belt. You don’t want him to beat Gunther. You want to keep Gunther strong. You don’t want him to beat Cody. Cody’s the face of the company. He’s doing ice cream commercials where he bites it the wrong way. But that’s that’s what the face of the of the company has to do. So, I think he could see very ‘sneakily,’ it’s the word of the week,
come away with the victory. And I’m calling it right now. Sami Zayn gets the win in Riyadh and wins the WWE Championship. [7:49 onwards]
WWE Analyst Sam Roberts Also Predicted A Title Change At Night Of Champions
On a recent episode of his Notsam Wrestling podcast, WWE analyst Sam Roberts also predicted the outcome of the Undisputed WWE Championship match at Night of Champions.
The 42-year-old speculated that Gunther would emerge victorious to end Cody Rhodes’ title reign. He suggested it could then lead to a grudge match between The American Nightmare and Sami Zayn at SummerSlam.
I very much, very much want Gunther to win the WWE Championship in this match. I want Gunther to win the WWE Championship at Night of Champions. We’ve got this Triple Threat. Gunther has now lost to Cody Rhodes twice.
You can put asterixis next to it all you want, but the fact is that he is not undefeated since beating John Cena. Gunther retired Goldberg, Bill Goldberg, then he retired John Cena, then he retired AJ Styles, and he beat Seth Rollins at WrestleMania. Asterixis nonetheless, but Cody beat him twice.
I think that Gunther going into this thing and coming out the WWE Champion is what it was all for. And Gunther now going to SummerSlam as WWE Champion opens the door to so much. I want Gunther to win the WWE Championship because it’s a Triple Threat. Gunther can pin Sami Zayn to win this title.
