Matt Jackson Names Young Bucks As “Most Influential” Team Ever

The Young Bucks, Nick and Matt Jackson

Celebrating their 18th anniversary in wrestling, Matt Jackson has explained the reasons why The Young Bucks are the most influential tag team of all time.

Although their style certainly has a line which causes some fans not to like it, Nick and Matt Jackson certainly have an army of loyal followers who hang on their every exploit.

The Young Bucks impressed on the independent scene, including extremely successful spells with Dragon Gate, PWG and Ring Of Honor before a not so successful stint in IMPACT Wrestling.

The duo used this point as a springboard, becoming members of The Bullet Club in New Japan Pro Wrestling and becoming one of the hottest properties in wrestling. Between their time in NJPW and Ring Of Honor they built a cult following which also drew hundreds of thousands to their Being The Elite show on a weekly basis.

They also took a unique approach to the way merchandise was sold in wrestling, changing the game for those outside WWE. They also then went on to help Cody Rhodes present the All In independent show in 2018.

This event led to the pair joining forces with Tony Khan to form All Elite Wrestling, where they both act as Executive Vice Presidents and compete inside the squared circle.

Following on from a post on his brother Nick Jackson’s Instagram account, Matt Jackson has commented on just how influential The Young Bucks have been on the wrestling world.

And to think, if we never decided to do it, so many wrestlers would currently be unemployed. An entire genre of wrestling would never be created. The very way merchandise was sold would’ve never been revolutionized & the economy of the industry would’ve never boomed the way it did. The most influential tag team of all time. Congrats.

Already having two AEW Tag Team Championship reigns to their name, The Young Bucks will no doubt now have their sights set on the newly-created trios titles, however will also be gunning for Adam Cole and ReDragon who attacked them on Dynamite recently.
