Kenny Omega Suddenly Handed Another Title Belt On AEW Dynamite
Kenny Omega made history on AEW Dynamite last week as he defeated MJF to become the AEW World Champion once again. He defeated Maxwell Jacob Friedman in the main event last week to set up a clash with Will Ospreay.
Ospreay, who won the Owen Hart Cup this year, earned a shot at the World Championship and will face the champion at AEW All In in London. He will now face Omega, who became only the sixth person to win the promotion’s top prize for the second time.
However, Omega had MJF’s version of the championship, the Triple B, as he came out to celebrate his win. He was surprised at his celebration by his best friends, The Young Bucks.
Nick and Matt Jackson joined Omega in the ring and presented him with the Original version of the AEW World Championship, discarding the BBB. Shortly after their celebration, they were joined by Will Ospreay, who asked to speak with Omega individually.
Kenny Omega was approached by another challenger for the AEW World Championship
The duo spoke about their upcoming match at All In and seemed to shake hands ahead of their clash, but were interrupted by Kevin Knight. The Jet asked Omega for a shot at the championship at AEW Redemption because MJF owed him a title shot.
Kenny refused him a title shot because MJF had promised him one, but contemplated handing him the shot due to his abilities. However, he urged him to get away from the Don Callis Family, but was ultimately attacked by Knight.
He hit Omega with the mic to his head before Ospreay jumped to his defense. The rest of the Don Callis Family came out in Knight’s support, as the Death Riders joined Ospreay, leading to a standoff between the two sides.
