John Cena Reveals True Feelings About His WWE Retirement Year
John Cena is currently retired from the ring.
John Cena will go down as one of the greatest WWE stars of all time. During the course of his legendary career, Cena competed against and beat some of the biggest names in the business.
He also enjoyed multiple World Title reigns during his career. Cena accomplished pretty much everything there was to do in the business before he began to turn his attention towards Hollywood. During the last few years of his WWE run, Cena made a few sporadic appearances and competed in a few matches. In 2024, Cena shocked the world when he announced his retirement tour. During the course of his retirement tour, Cena made the shocking decision to turn heel. He even won his 17th World Title with the company. Before his retirement tour could end, Cena returned to being a babyface. His retirement tour was filled with ups and downs. He also competed against some old rivals like Randy Orton and CM Punk. However, there were some fans who felt that Triple H ruined John Cena’s farewell tour. Cena finally hung up his boots after losing to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event in December 2025. Following this, Cena has moved on and is focused on his acting career. However, he has made a few appearances on WWE PLEs this year. Now, he will be part of Unreal season three, where he finally talks about his retirement tour.
John Cena opens up about his retirement tour
John Cena took to social media to react to a clip of himself talking about his retirement tour that took place last year. The Last Real Champion said that he had so many unforgettable memories in his final year in the ring, and he’s looking forward to seeing what WWE Unreal captured regarding one of the greatest years of his life.

John Cena showed up at WWE Backlash 2026 to announce the John Cena Classic.
