What CM Punk Wants For The Next Generation Of WWE Superstars
CM Punk was the special guest on the latest edition of Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast, where he discussed today’s WWE developmental system.
Punk reflected on his personal journey in the industry and expressed his appreciation for the current landscape. He highlighted that today’s emerging talents are given much greater opportunities to hone their skills as compared to the past.
Punk then revealed what he wants for the next generation of WWE superstars.
CM Punk Wants The Next Generation Of WWE Superstars To Get Paid More For Less Work
CM Punk said he wants future generations of WWE talent to work less and get paid more. He doesn’t want future stars to go through the rigid schedule he had to go through back in the day.
Punk stated that he often talks to his buddies in the NHL who tell him that when younger NHL talents get paid more than older stars, they get happy and excited for them. This is the same ideology CM Punk wants to bring to WWE.
“I want the next generation to work less and get paid more than I did.” “That’s what you should want. That’s what you should want in any business.. I talk to a lot of my friends in the NHL, and they’re stoked that the young kids are making more money than they ever did. They’re like, ‘This is great. These young kids are making more money than we ever did. This is great.’”
Punk’s interview with Stephanie McMahon majorly focused on his personal life outside the ring rather than his wrestling storylines. He discussed things like the passing away of his pet dog, Larry, and how he and his wife, AJ Lee, have been dealing with the loss.
He also spoke about his recent post-WrestleMania 42 hiatus from WWE and what he did while being away from television.
