Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk Has A Personal Confession: “It Got Bad”
CM Punk makes a personal confession, revealing that things “got bad” during his time away from WWE.
Punk went on a short hiatus after his brief appearance alongside Cody Rhodes on the Raw after WrestleMania 42 show. He then returned months later on the July 6 edition of Monday Night Raw, where he challenged Sami Zayn for the Undisputed Championship.
The Second City Saint defeated Sami Zayn in his hometown of Chicago to end Zayn’s nine-day reign as the Undisputed WWE Champion.
CM Punk Gained 20 Lbs During His WWE Hiatus
After his title victory last week on WWE Raw, the new Undisputed WWE Champion recently sat down with Stephanie McMahon for an interview on her What’s Your Story podcast, where he discussed his time away from WWE.
CM Punk revealed that he went on a vacation with his wife, AJ Lee, to Hawaii during his break from WWE television. He stayed in Hawaii for a week, and during that week, he had a lot of cheat meals, which led him to gain weight.
When he went to Hawaii, he was 204 pounds, and when he came back, he was 224 pounds, which means he gained 20 pounds in just a week. Punk added that as soon as he came back from his vacation, he locked in and lost all the extra weight in only five days.
In Hawaii recently, I went overboard (with the cheat meals) to where it got bad. I arrived on the island 204 pounds and I left 224 pounds. I was there for seven days… Five days. Came back and locked in…”
CM Punk is scheduled to defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against former champion Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam on August 1-2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
But before that, he has to team up with his SummerSlam opponent to take on Gunther and Sami Zayn at Saturday Night Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
