Triple H MUST NOT Book Top WWE Star In 2026 Money In The Bank Match
WWE Money in the Bank is one of the most anticipated PLEs during any given year.
The namesake match format gives male and female performers in the company a chance to get their hands on a unique contract, which they can cash in at any point in time over the next 365 days.
It is one of the creative ways to challenge for the world title, as the briefcase can be cashed in when the champion is at their most vulnerable. In the past, this exact approach has witnessed numerous heartbreaks and title changes.
2026 has been an interesting year, at least in terms of building up WWE Money in the Bank PLE.
After New Orleans, Louisiana, was stripped of the WrestleMania hosting rights, it was announced that the city would host MITB on August 29, 2026.
The date was then pushed back twice, with the first new date announced as September 6, which was later changed to October 10, which is the current date.
Fightful Select claimed that a scheduling conflict with WWE’s broadcast partners was the primary reason behind the alteration of the date, which was also verified by Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer.
This year’s WWE Money in the Bank will be the 17th edition of the premium live event.
Oba Femi Should Not Be In WWE Money In The Bank Match
At Night of Champions last month, Oba Femi defeated Jey Uso in the final of the King of the Ring tournament to earn a World Championship match at SummerSlam.
However, after being confronted and blindsided by Brock Lesnar, he decided to forgo his title opportunity, instead opting to face The Beast Incarnate at the Biggest Party of the Summer.
As of this moment, it is unclear as to when or if Femi will challenge for the major championship any time soon.
Meanwhile, winning the WWE Money in the Bank match can catapult any superstar to the top of the division by beating a champion of their choosing whenever and wherever they please.
Since last year, Triple H & Co.’s bookings have been criticized many times, with them facing accusations of abruptly halting interesting storylines as well as ending them similarly.
Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer recently discussed Oba Femi’s decision to forgo his title opportunity at SummerSlam.
The duo also discussed the possibility of The Ruler entering the title picture again by winning the Money in the Bank match, to which Meltzer claimed that he should not even be a part of the fixture.
Meltzer: He shouldn’t be in Money in the Bank.
Alvarez: Maybe he can win Money in the Bank and say, ‘I don’t want the briefcase. I’d rather face Brock again.’
Meltzer: It’d be stupid for him to win Moeny in the Bank because he is not a guy that you wanna win the championship in that goofy way. I mean, he can win the Rumble. He can win the Rumble, that’s fine, but Money in the Bank, he should not even be in Money in the Bank because he has no business being in something that he doesn’t win at this point. [5:05 onwards]
