WWE had to alter massive plans for the upcoming SummerSlam pay-per-view after the WWE Women’s Champion, Rhea Ripley, suffered a major injury.

Ripley defended her title against Jade Cargill at Clash in Italy back in May, but unfortunately, she injured her knee during the match, leaving her sidelined.

In her absence, Adam Pearce announced that a new Interim WWE Women’s Champion will be crowned at SummerSlam 2026.

Charlotte Flair costs WWE superstar on SmackDown

A massive five-woman ladder match will take place at the Biggest Party of the Summer, and the first two participants of the match were confirmed tonight.

Tiffany Stratton defeated Jacy Jayne to become the first woman to qualify for the ladder match. Next up, Jade Cargill faced Nia Jax in the second qualification match.

However, Charlotte Flair attacked B-Fab and Michin suddenly before getting into the ring and attacking Jade Cargill. She was exacting revenge on the group for injuring Alexa Bliss last week.

The Queen almost took out Cargill’s arm before Michin and B-Fab pulled her out of the ring. As a result of Flair’s attack, Jade won the match via disqualification and advanced to the ladder match.
