Drew McIntyre Reacts To CM Punk’s Next WWE Raw Appearance

Drew McIntyre doesn’t appear to be that excited about CM Punk’s return to the WWE Raw brand.

World Wrestling Entertainment announced that CM Punk will return to television on the March 25th episode of Raw in Punk’s hometown of Chicago. While WWE fans miss seeing Punk in the ring, he won’t be wrestling on the show because he had surgery to repair his right triceps in early February, which is an injury that will keep Punk out of the ring for anywhere from six to eight months.

CM Punk’s right triceps injury occurred during the Men’s Royal Rumble match when Drew McIntyre hit him with a Future Shock DDT. The injury wasn’t the fault of either man, but it’s something that happens in pro wrestling sometimes. Punk was the runner-up in the Rumble match that was won by Cody Rhodes.

After the injury by Punk, Raw’s Drew McIntyre told him that he prayed for Punk to get injured. McIntyre has made it clear that he didn’t like Punk because he saw what Punk was like previously in WWE and wasn’t happy about Punk coming back to WWE after nearly ten years away.

On Twitter/X, McIntyre sarcastically reacted to the return of Punk on the March 25th Raw by using a GIF of a fan in tears when Punk returned to AEW in August 2021.

Drew McIntyre mocking CM Punk isn’t anything new since he has done things like post a workout video while focusing on his triceps as well. There was also the Drew shirt mocking CM Punk not going to be in a WrestleMania match.

World Title Match At WrestleMania 40 To Feature Drew McIntyre

For the third time since Crown Jewel in November 2023, Drew McIntyre will get to challenge Seth “Freakin” Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania 40. McIntyre earned the spot by winning the Men’s Elimination Chamber controversially thanks to Logan Paul knocking out Randy Orton using brass knuckles.

As a result of that victory, McIntyre will get the World Title match with Rollins. The original plan was for CM Punk to be in that spot against Rollins, but due to Punk’s injury, Punk is out and McIntyre is taking his place.
