Exposed! Why Stephanie McMahon Opposed Vince McMahon’s WWE Return
New details have revealed Stephanie McMahon’s stance on her father’s WWE return in 2023.
Vince McMahon had begrudgingly resigned from his role as the promotion’s CEO in 2022. However, he returned in 2023 and facilitated WWE’s sale to Endeavor, which led to the formation of the TKO Group.
During his absence, Stephanie McMahon served as the co-CEO of the company with Nick Khan, but his return not only saw him assume the role of Executive Chairman on the board, it led to Stephanie’s shocking departure as well.
While the Billion Dollar Princess does not hold a corporate position, she has made television appearances, including hosting last year’s Evolution PLE. At WrestleMania 42, she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.
Vince McMahon, on the other hand, resigned from the promotion in 2024 after a former employee, Janel Grant, filed a lawsuit against him, accusing her former boss of sexual assault and trafficking.
More recently, a leaked voicemail featuring Vince McMahon revealed that he wanted to sell the company to Endeavor.
In his deposition, WWE President Nick Khan claimed that Stephanie McMahon was opposed to Vince’s return to the company and was of the opinion that the company need not be sold either.
Apparently, the discussion between them took place at a dinner at The Mark Hotel in New York, where Vince and Stephanie were joined by Linda McMahon, Paul Levesque (Triple H), Ari Emanuel, Mark Shapiro, and Nick Khan.
I remember Stephanie discouraging her dad from coming back as the CEO because we didn’t know what role he was going to come back in, and I remember her expressing that there was no need to sell the company if that’s what he was contemplating, Khan said. [H/T: Sportskeeda]
Stephanie McMahon Claims Daughter’s Wrestling Ambitions Changed After Vince McMahon’s Scandal
The McMahon Family has remained tight-lipped about allegations against Vince McMahon, which include sexual assault and trafficking.
Despite that, it remains one of the biggest scandals in the wrestling world today, so much so that details tend to slip out in bits and pieces about how it has affected the lives of everyone around.
During a recent episode of Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story? podcast, the former WWE manager revealed how Vince’s scandal altered the wrestling plans for her daughter, Aurora, who instead pushed for a career in physical therapy.
Well, Aurora used to want to (get into wrestling), and she even got in the ring with Nattie and Charlotte (Flair). She rolled around a little bit.
But then, everything kind of happened with my dad and me leaving, and it was an awkward time. Like right in the time that she would’ve really been making her decision.
She still could (work in wrestling), but her mind right now is on getting her doctorate in PT. [H/T: Cageside Seats]
In addition to What’s Your Story?, Stephanie McMahon has another show on ESPN titled Stephanie’s Places.
