Real Reason Why Cody Rhodes’ Ex-Ally And WWE Legend Left AEW
A WWE Hall of Famer and Cody Rhodes’ former ally revealed the reason why he left AEW. The legend in question is Arn Anderson.
Arn Anderson is known for his in-ring career back in the 1980s and 1990s in major promotions like WWE and WCW. He also joined All Elite Wrestling during the company’s inception in 2019. Arn was an onscreen manager and head coach of Cody Rhodes during his time in AEW.
In 2024, Arn Anderson decided to part ways with All Elite Wrestling, and fans have been wondering what the actual reason for his departure was.
Cody Rhodes’ ex-ally on the reason for his AEW exit
Speaking on his ARN Show Podcast, Cody Rhodes’ ex-ally, Arn Anderson revealed that he first joined AEW to be Cody’s manager and trainer:
I’ve got to be honest with you. I was brought in to be Tully’s [Cody Rhodes] trainer, manager, manager, force of reason — whatever you want to call me. And when he left, he kind of took the angle with him.”
Arn’s son, Brock Anderson also had a run in AEW, as the legend revealed how Brock benefited with Cody Rhodes:
When he broke in, he [Brock Anderson] got a nice rub being with Cody in some tags and all that, which was about as good as you could get at that particular time. It was new, it was fresh. But the angle with Cody — he took it with him, and it was just a matter of time because, you know.”
Arn Anderson further opened up on working with Wardlow:
I did a couple of shows with… what’s the guy that was the big jacked-up guy? Wardlow. And, you know, it was just kind of out of left field, out of nowhere.”
Arn Anderson concluded by praising Tony Khan for treating him very well and deeming his time in AEW as bad timing:
Tony treated us really well. I’ll never say anything [bad] about Tony Khan. He’s a class act, used me the best he could in the situation. Just one of them things. Timing is everything — it was just bad timing.”
You should turn around and treat your employer with the same respect that he has treated you with. Because he doesn’t have to put you in a first-class hotel, he doesn’t have to fly you first class, he doesn’t have to provide transportation back and forth to the airport, to the hotel. I mean, Tony Khan treats his talent first class.” [H/T Ringside News]
