WWE SmackDown was off to a surprising start tonight as the crowd cheered their hearts out for the newly crowned Undisputed WWE Champion, Sami Zayn. The cheer from the crowd was immense before things returned to usual.

The opening segment of the show saw the acting SmackDown General Manager, Adam Pearce, make a huge announcement as he confirmed a massive main event for the show.

Following the announcement, it was time for the first match of the night, which saw Charlotte Flair team up with Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton to take on The Baddies.

Former WWE Champion gets buried once again

Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair have been at each other’s throats for the last few weeks. Along with Michin and B-Fab, Cargill injured Flair, costing her the Queen of the Ring and Charlotte returned the favor by costing Jade her Women’s US Title match at Night of Champions.

That interaction led to this match, which, despite being fairly even for the most part, ended in another loss for Flair and, more importantly, Chelsea Green. The former Women’s United States Champion has been having a tough time on the blue brand.

She seemed to be heading towards snapping her recent losing streak as she had Jade in place for the Un-pretty-her, but Jade reversed it into a Jaded. However, Chelsea reversed it for a pin, but broke it to take out B-Fab, and this distraction proved costly.

A recovered Cargill was then successful in hitting the Jaded on Chelsea and pinned her. This marked Green’s fifth consecutive loss on SmackDown, continuing Triple H’s recent burial of the inaugural Women’s United States Champion.
