Sami Zayn Tipped To Drop His World Title, But With Big WWE Twist
Sami Zayn won his first world title in WWE at Night of Champions.
At the June 27 Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia, Zayn beat Cody Rhodes and Gunther to win the Undisputed WWE Championship. With this victory, he finally accomplished his dream of winning a world title in WWE, which he had been chasing for over a decade.
Most people were either rooting for Cody Rhodes or Gunther to walk out of Saudi Arabia as the new champion. But Sami Zayn shocked the WWE Universe with this monumental victory.
According to reports, the real reason Sami Zayn beat Gunther and Cody Rhodes to win the Undisputed WWE Championship was that many people backstage had been wanting to see him win a world title for a long time.
Wrestling insiders have noted that Zayn’s Undisputed WWE Championship reign will not last very long, predicting that he will lose the World Title at SummerSlam in August and that he will be a heel champion in his current reign.
WWE Veteran’s Fantasy Booking For Sami Zayn’s Perfect WrestleMania Moment
Speaking on the latest episode of his YouTube podcast, WWE veteran Stevie Richards shared his take on Sami Zayn’s world championship storyline. Richards stated that WWE can run Zayn’s storyline as they did with Cody Rhodes’ American Dream storyline against Roman Reigns.
He stated that Sami Zayn should lose his title to Gunther and then win the 2027 Men’s Royal Rumble match to eventually challenge for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 43, which will take place in Saudi Arabia next year.
“You can have Sami kind of repeat the Cody story, where Sami does lose it but has to win the Royal Rumble to win the title back in Saudi Arabia at WrestleMania 43. So you have a detour. Maybe it’s Gunther. And then he fights Gunther at WrestleMania 43 and ends up winning the title back,” (10:32 – 10:50)
