Happy Birthday, Cody Rhodes!

The American Nightmare was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, on June 30, 1985. Hence, on Tuesday, he turned 41. On the special occasion of his 41st birthday, millions of his fans around the globe wished him a happy birthday and paid him special tributes on social media.

Just three days ahead of his 41st birthday, Cody Rhodes lost the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions on June 27. He had put his title on the line against Sami Zayn and Gunther in a Triple Threat Match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The outcome saw Sami Zayn emerge victorious to become the new champion.

Why Sami Zayn Beat Cody Rhodes At Night Of Champions

According to WrestleVotes, the reason Sami Zayn beat Cody Rhodes at Night of Champions was that many people backstage have wanted to see Zayn win a World Title in WWE for a long time.

Sami Zayn wins the title. Good for him. It’s something a lot of people backstage have wanted to see happen for a long time.”

Sami Zayn’s championship victory marked his first world championship reign in WWE. He became the first-ever Muslim wrestler to win a world championship in WWE. He had been consistently chasing a world championship for the last decade, and he finally accomplished his dream on Saturday.

However, some people believe that his world championship reign won’t last long. In a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer stated that Sami Zayn will not remain the Undisputed WWE Champion for very long.

I don’t see a long reign, but I would hope it’s longer than SummerSlam. You know, I mean, long enough to where it’s not like one of those things where it’s like, well, we finally gave it to him, but we didn’t mean it, you know.

Vince Russo also feels the same way. On the latest episode of Coach and Bro Show, he predicted Sami Zayn would drop the world title at SummerSlam in August.
