The Last Real Good Guy faced Gunther and Cody Rhodes in a Triple Threat match for the Undisputed WWE Championship at Night of Champions in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
To the surprise of many, Zayn pinned The American Nightmare to capture the title for the first time in his career, drawing a huge ovation from the Saudi crowd.

Sami Zayn Was In Complete Disbelief Backstage After WWE Night Of Champions
The newly crowned Undisputed Champion spoke to WWE MENA backstage after Night of Champions. In his emotional interview conducted in Arabic, Sami Zayn admitted he was still in disbelief, revealing that there was a time when he believed his chance of ever becoming a world champion had passed him.
The Canadian of Syrian descent added that he hoped that his achievement would inspire young people across the Arab and Muslim world to pursue their dreams, whether in professional wrestling or any other field.
