NXT North American Title Match Delivers Instant Classic At Great American Bash
The penultimate match of NXT Great American Bash featured two friends battling it out against each other for NXT Gold. Two former members of the No Quarter Catch Crew went toe-to-toe tonight.
NXT North American Champion Myles Borne defended his title against his friend, Tavion Heights, after helping even the odds in Heights’ number one contender’s match a few weeks back.
Heights defeated Jackson Drake to become the number one contender for the title after Borne helped keep Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor out of the ring, setting up a clash between the two friends.

Both wrestlers put on an extremely calculated and hard-hitting performance that left both of them spent by the end of the bout. Given their relationships and shared history, both men knew each other extremely well.
Borne and Heights traded momentum throughout the match as both men took control of the match at various times in the match. Heights gave it his all to win the title and came close after hitting an Electric Chair on Borne and following it up with a huge splash.

Borne kicked out in the nick of time and almost immediately hit him with a German Suplex. He went to hit a dropkick to Tavion, but he moved out of the way. He then picked him up across his shoulders and was about to slam him down, but Myles reversed it into the Borne Again.
He immediately covered Heights following the move and picked up the win over his friend. The two men shared a firm handshake following an intense title match as a sign of mutual respect.
