WWE NXT is rapidly building towards the show’s first-ever Premium Live Event to be aired on the CW Network, with the Great American Bash set to take place on June 28, 2026.

The promotion featured two number-one contender matches last week, as Naraku and Kendal Grey emerged as Tony D’Angelo and Lola Vice’s challengers for the WWE NXT Men’s and Women’s Championships, respectively.

Not only did Robert Stone find out his challengers for the top prize in both divisions, but he also announced a number one contender’s match for tonight’s show.

Tavion Heights and Jackson Drake kicked off the in-ring action tonight with the winner receiving a shot at Myles Borne’s North American Championship at the Great American Bash.

The duo were arguing over getting a shot at the title last week and put on a solid display tonight. Heights took control of large parts of the match, but Drake had the Vanity Project by his side, trying to turn the tide for him.

However, Drake himself proved to be their undoing as Tavion suplexed him into his stablemates. Ricky Smokes and Brad Baylor then tried to get inside the ring, but were stopped by Tavion’s friend, Myles Borne.

The NXT North American Champion pulled them out of the ring and took them out with a double clothesline, allowing Tavion Heights to hit the Heights Bomb for the win and become the new number one contender for the NA Title.
