The Vanity Project Survives Major Scare To Retain WWE NXT Gold

WWE NXT had a huge night in store for the fans as the show was packed with some massive title matches and a huge number one contender’s match for the NXT Women’s Championship.

The night began with a highly entertaining clash for the NXT Tag Team Championships as Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes of The Vanity Project defended their titles against Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux.

Legacy and Van Dux teamed up a few weeks back and participated in the number one contender fatal-four-way last week. They defeated OTM, DarkState, and BirthRight to earn the title shot.

The challengers began the match on the front foot as they had dominated the entire early stage of the match, catching Baylor and Smokes by surprise. Their chemistry was off the charts despite it just being their third match together.

Smokes and Baylor finally got back into the fight after Jackson Drake and Myka Lockwood interfered in the match. The Vanity Project worked together to keep Legacy and Van Dux away from each other.

They began to assert their dominance over the challengers until a hot tag from Legacy turned the tide once again. The challengers came close to dethroning The Vanity Project on multiple occasions.

However, the night ended in heartbreak for Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux as Myka and Drake made their presence known once again. Lockwood took Van Dux out, allowing Smokes and Baylor to hit their double team finisher to pick up the win and retain their titles.
