Becky Lynch Breaks Character After Sami Zayn’s WWE Title Win: “I’m Crying”
Becky Lynch couldn’t maintain her on-screen character after Sami Zayn won the WWE title.
Lynch is currently a heel in WWE. She is always seen on television or social media, either bragging about herself or complaining for one reason or another.
But when The Underdog from the Underground became the new Undisputed WWE Champion, she couldn’t resist breaking her heel character to congratulate her fellow ginger friend.
Soon after Zayn won the Undisputed WWE Championship, Becky Lynch logged onto her X/Twitter account to pay an emotional congratulatory tribute to the new champ. She tweeted:
I was crying tears of joy then and I’m crying tears of joy now! So well deserved! Congratulations @SamiZayn!!

Sami Zayn won the Undisputed WWE Championship after he beat Cody Rhodes and Gunther in a triple threat match at Night of Champions on June 7.
Sami Zayn Is Going To Be A Heel Champion In WWE, Says Former WWE Writer
With this victory, Zayn became the first-ever Muslim wrestler to win a WWE title. It’s his first reign as the WWE Champion, and former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. has claimed that Zayn is going to be a heel champ.
Speaking on his Wrestling with Freddie podcast, Freddie predicted the future of Zayn’s Undisputed WWE Championship reign and said:
I told you he was gonna win via the Royal Rumble. Nah, this is how he’s winning it. And he’s gonna be a heel champion. He’s gonna be a scumbag. And everybody’s gonna hate him except the people that ride with him from day one, like your boy, me. That takes guts to pick Sami Zayn.
Following Night of Champions, Zayn’s best friend, Kevin Owens, also shared a celebratory message congratulating the new champ on social media. WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H did the same, too.
